Avi’s Story

“I made it home. But part of me stayed there.”

Avi came back from the front lines, but nothing felt normal. The house was the same—his daughter’s drawings still on the fridge, his wife smiling through the stress—but he couldn’t settle in. Sleep wouldn’t come. Sounds felt too loud. Silence felt worse. He didn’t want to worry them, so he kept it all inside.

TAMAR’S STORY

“I can’t fall apart. So I don’t.”

While Avi was away, Tamar held the family together. She handled bedtime, bills, and breakdowns—quietly. Now that he’s home, she’s still carrying the emotional weight. She wants to be strong for him, but she's tired. And no one’s ever asked how she’s doing.

NOA’S STORY

“I don’t remember what Abba’s hug feels like.”

Noa is five. She waited and waited for her father to come home. But when he finally walked through the door, he didn’t scoop her up like before. He was quiet. Distant. She doesn’t understand why. She just knows things don’t feel the same—and she misses the way they used to.

The IDF Lounge

A Place to Breathe, Connect, and Heal

The IDF Lounge is a therapeutic space in the heart of Jerusalem where returning reservist soldiers and their families can begin to recover—together. It’s a calm, welcoming environment where trauma is met with understanding, stress is addressed with care, and healing becomes possible.

Because the Battle Doesn’t End When They Come Home

Since October 7th, we’ve supported over 115 families of IDF reservists. Many soldiers return with deep emotional wounds—while their spouses and children carry burdens of their own. The pain is quiet but heavy. The IDF Lounge exists to help them rebuild their lives—with strength, dignity, and support.
